Spreading awareness in the area of ​​air quality is a process of constant promotion. We try to inform the public about air protection and steps to improve it through as many media outlets as possible. One of the forms is a discussion show. You can learn more in the video.

We all learn new knowledge throughout our lives. It is important to convey new information to all age categories. We decided to convey such an important message, about air protection, to children from two elementary schools at the end of the school year.

In the Žilina self-governing region, a photo competition on the topic "Better world - cleaner air" was organized as part of the Populair LIFE IP project - Improving air quality. Students of secondary schools in the Žilina Region could participate in this competition, and their photos had to be taken in the territory of the Žilina Region.

Deteriorated air quality still worries many Europeans, especially in urban areas. While emissions of air pollutants and their concentrations in ambient air have decreased significantly in Europe over the past two decades, air quality remains low in many areas.

The topic of sustainable mobility in favor of improving air quality is the subject of a series of workshops organized by the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic, the Slovak Environmental Agency and other partners within the LIFE IP - Air Quality Improvement project. The workshop was held in person and was the second such workshop this year on the topic of sustainable mobility and examples of good practice. It took place on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in Košice, at the TABAČKA KULTURFABRIK cultural center and focused on the Košice and Prešov regions.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine is having an impact on society worldwide. Among other things, it is causing a global energy crisis. In an effort to slow down and mitigate its impacts on consumers, the International Energy Agency (IEA) has developed a 10-point plan to reduce oil consumption in the mobility and transport sector.

Transport is one of the important factors in the development of modern society and economy. However, it also has its dark side – the increase in individual car traffic, traffic jams, air pollution, increased noise, which ultimately leads to a deterioration in the health and quality of life of residents of cities and municipalities. The Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Environmental Agency, as in 2021, also in 2022 prepared a series of workshops for representatives of local governments and the professional public focused on the issue of sustainable mobility, presenting examples of good practice in favor of improving air quality.

Thanks to the measures taken in the field of air protection, the air quality in our cities is constantly improving. Air quality improvement programs and strategic planning documents, which are currently being prepared by district offices in the regional seat, also with the help of air quality managers, should also contribute to further positive change. Fresh information on this and other topics was provided at a workshop organized as part of the LIFE IP project - Improving Air Quality, which took place on January 26, 2022, focusing on the Bratislava, Trnava and Trenčín regions. Similar workshops for other regions were organized in 2021.

From March 1, 2022, France will make it mandatory to include sustainable mobility messages in car advertisements. In order to reduce emissions, the country is using the same concept as in the fight against unhealthy eating, where health recommendations are mandatory in advertising messages.

From the point of view of air protection and its management, the Slovak Republic is divided into zones and agglomerations. The city of Bratislava represents an agglomeration, defined by the borders of the capital of the Slovak Republic and at the same time is also an air quality management area based on the assessment of air quality in the Slovak Republic, commissioned by the organization of the Ministry of the Environment, which is the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute.
