The output of the first meeting of the Heating and Energy Working Group was a proposal for measures in the areas of Equipment, Fuel, Reduction of Energy Consumption and Data. Problems with outdated solid fuel combustion equipment, combustion of poor-quality fuel, or raw, so-called wet wood, high household energy consumption and insufficient data were identified.

Inspections of combustion equipment, the ban on overburning and underburning boilers, targeted assistance, support for automated equipment and distribution of fuel of the required quality, and the use of local energy sources were discussed.

In connection with the lack of relevant data, there is a problem with the evaluation of the proposed measures. The Institute of Environmental Policy, following the recently published study Only what is meant to burn will burn, drew attention to the inconsistency in the presented data on the energy use of wood biomass.

This will be followed by a bilateral meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic.
