Representatives from the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic gave lectures on the procedures for granting consents and permitting sources of air pollution, small combustion plants, and also on information available on the web. The outputs of the Populair project were presented, which municipalities and cities can use to educate and disseminate information on proper heating principles and other measures to improve air quality.

The temporary system for registering small combustion plants – small sources of air pollution) was also presented, which is in the trial phase of cooperation between the SAŽP and the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic. In January, municipalities will be informed about the next steps.

A large amount of space was dedicated to answering questions that workshop participants had the opportunity to send in advance or ask directly during the event. At the same time, participants had the opportunity to share experiences with solving situations and problems from practice related to the new competencies of municipalities in connection with changes in legislation in the field of air protection.

The event was organized within the framework of the LIFE IP project – Improving Air Quality. The workshop was attended by approximately 150 participants. The lectures were mainly of a technical and administrative nature in order to provide practical information for representatives of local governments.
